Don Odhiambo

Kibera is home for Don. Drawing has been one of his hobbies since childhood. Seeing people create life out of painting made him feel like he would do the same to his drawing. This has since been his reason for doing it more. He is the master of Ankara on canvas and news paper on canvas. His special technique is the palette knife. He has also perfected painting by brush.
The African culture is Don's biggest inspiration. His artwork recognizes and celebrates the rich African culture. Women too have also inspired his art because of the positive influence they have had in his life combined with their strength and ability to keep everything together. As a self-taught artist, his work is a continous improvemnet from new ideas from his friends and peer artists.
Don has participated in local group exhibitions and Uweza art events.
