Andrew Wabacha

Andrew is 24 years old and lives in the informal settlement Kibera, where the art gallery is based. He lives with his mom and older brother.

Andrew has always been interested in art but because he wasn't sure if he could make a living through it, he recently earned a Bachelors degree in Real Estate.

As an aspiring artist, he has faced challenges including lack of access to materials as well as struggles with marketing his work. He was introduced to Uweza by a friend just over two years ago. He has since become one of the gallery's best selling artists and is now sure that he can make a living and career through art.

Andrew's favorite subjects to paint are people and he is inspired by the techniques of pop art and expressionism. He also likes to paint space art and has a series of pieces based in outer space and on the moon.

Moving forward, Andrew plans to continue to develop his career as an artist and be able to reach financial stability through it. He also aspires to own his own gallery and studio.
